Horses For Sale/Lease

Formiss - FOR SALE

2004 Dutch Warmblood x Quarter Horse mare

"Missy" is a 15.3hh palomino mare by the late Holland import stallion Formaat (Widor x Astrea) and out of the Quarter Horse mare Blue Jay's Queen (Doctor Blue Jay x Sunglows Queen).

She is green with all her basics: w/t/c, back-up, sidepass, leg aids/lateral work started, collection work started, etc.  She ties, loads, bathes, clips, and stands for the farrier.  Fabulous extension and natural carriage, very uphill trot and canter. Also shows the potential and scope for jumping.  A very sweet mare!!  She was started in the fall of 2008 (60 days) and had another 90 days over the summer of 2009, after which she was sold to a 4H rider who did very well on her the past several months.

Missy is for sale due to an accident, through no fault of her own.  She is sound and utd on everything and has spent the last couple of months under-saddle with a young 4H-er and her father (successfully).  Would suit the right beginner/intermediate rider in lessons but has the dressage and hunter potential to also advance an experienced rider.

Please contact me for details and contact info to her owners.

Formaat's Kool Renegade - LEASED

"Koolaid" is a 2000 15.2hh grey gelding also by the late Holland import Dutch stallion Formaat and out of a Quarab mare.

Koolaid's ad is viewable at Horsetopia hereHe is currently leased until May 11 2010.

Link's Secret - LEASED

I am looking for a rider, preferably experienced in (classical) dressage/jumping, who is looking for a horse to ride over the winter. I will be away and would love if "Link" did not have to simply sit in pasture while I am away this winter (Jan/Feb/Mar).

"Link" is a 2004 dark bay 16.2hh TB originally off the track (last fall) who is currently working on low-level dressage.  He is going great learning all his basics and is generally very relaxed and easy-going.  Can be high energy at times, but never dangerously so, especially in the arena.  Link has been ridden outdoors, including in the mountains and on a cattle ranch for a couple months this year.  Knows all his basics from w/t/c to leg yields and even bridleless riding (w/t) - very sensitive, responsive, light, and smart.  Currently learning (through patterns) to track up, forward movement (including learning some extended trot), bends, balance at all 3 gaits, etc.

Link is being ridden over the winter by Jen - thanks!!

Devil's Little Dipper (Sonny) - LEASED

We are looking for a rider, preferably experienced in dressage, who is looking for a horse to ride over the winter and perhaps over 2010 (including showing), when Sonny is not in use.  I am too busy with my own horses and my mom is often too busy with work to ride Sonny regularly - we would love to see him meet some of his potential as a hunter/dressage mount.

"Sonny" is a 2004 chestnut 16.3hh TB originally off the track (fall 2007).  He knows all his basics and is very relaxed yet medium-energy.  He is also fantastic on the trails and has been ridden extensively in Kananaskis country.  Due to his track/race exposure, he would also be great at shows.  Sonny is sound and has wondeful movement as a hunter/dressage prospect - we would prefer if he were not or were only minimally jumped.

Sonny is available for a completely free lease (Lessee would only be responsible for a small lease fee, no additional expenses).  Experienced youth in lessons would be good, experienced dressage riders preferred (so that Sonny may realise some of his potential).

Sonny is leased out to Claire and her father Mel, as well as to Robin!  With three riders, he should be kept on his little toes :)
